Sculpture of Boston Marathon Legend Bobbi Gibb to be Unveiled

Please join us in celebrating women, art, and distance running with the unveiling of the sculpture of Bobbi Gibb on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, from 6-8pm at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts (HCA).

Bobbi Gibb, the first woman to run the Boston Marathon, is sharing her lifetime wish – to sculpt a life-sized statue of a female runner and have it placed on the Boston Marathon course.

On the September 30th edition of HCAM News, we have the latest Hillers sports update, Weston Nurseries Owner, Peter Mezitt about his terrific efforts in raising money for the Jimmy fund and we’ll show you a cool Hopkinton community video showing their love for Boston Marathon Athletes but first Hopkinton community members recognized the BAA and all involved in the effort preparing for the 125th Boston Marathon, which will take place on October 11th.

Hopkinton Group Releases Short Film to Welcome Boston Marathon Runners Back

HCAM-TV, the Hopkinton Freedom Team, local filmmakers, the 26.2 Foundation, and residents and friends of Hopkinton have come together to send a message of love and support to Boston Marathon runners and their supporters around the world welcoming them back to our town, renowned as the starting line of the oldest and one of the most famous marathons in the world. Hopkinton is common ground for people from all over the globe who run the Boston Marathon and congregate for the start of the race.

Hopkinton Center for the Arts first “Curator in Residence” exhibition on display September 30 – November 11

Hopkinton Center for the Arts (HCA) is pleased to announce the opening of the first Kris Waldman Curator in Residence art exhibition entitled Collective Liberation. This exhibit is named in honor of HCA’s founding co-director, who shares a great passion for art that fosters dialogue around diversity and inclusivity, particularly of underrepresented communities.

The gathering will honor the memory of Tony DeStefano, who served during WW II, and together with Hal Pentheny and Don Hitchings (who both lived in Hopkinton) was a key Corsair technician on Okinawa.
