Hopkinton native Kayla Lewkowicz is running the Boston Marathon for the Brigham and Women's Hospital Stepping Strong Center. She hosted a night featuring beer tastings and raffle prizes at Start Line Brewing to raise money towards her fundraising goals.

HOPKINTON, MA –Blackstone Valley Wealth Management is pleased to announce the offering of a $1,000 scholarship to be given to a Hopkinton High School student graduation this spring. To be eligible for the Blackstone Valley Wealth Management Annual Scholarship, the student must be:
 Currently a senior at Hopkinton High School, graduating in 2018.  Planning to pursue a higher education at a college or university immediately after high school  A child in a single-parent home who can display financial need.

Hopkinton Drug hosted their annual holiday open house this past weekend. It was the 29th year in a row Hopkinton Drug hosted the Christmas themed event. The event featured holiday themed musical performances, arts & crafts for the kids, vendors, holiday snacks and a raffle of gift baskets with proceeds donated to Project Just Because. The Hopkinton Garden Club wants to express its gratitude to the local businesses who generously contributed to our 2017 “Help Hopkinton Bloom” sponsorship program. With their help, the club replaced many plantings in downtown garden areas they maintain, installed beautiful red mandevilla vines in our Main Street planters, and created a savings program to gradually replace our aging planters.

Greyhound Friends Update: Trial Date Set for Animal Cruelty Charges

The Greyhound Friends executive director Louise Coleman is headed to trial for felony animal cruelty.

According to our sources, the judge set the trial date for Nov 28. The trial is expected to last three to four days. The Assistant District Attorney said the Commonwealth has 500 pages of documents, including inspection reports, letters from other rescue organizations, and photographs.
