Video: Verizon Wireless Opens in Hopkinton

Verizon Wireless held their official Grand Opening in the newly built plaza at West Main Street. The plaza currently houses Starbucks, Unibank, Ideal Nails & Spa and now Verizon Wireless. The wireless mobile store is one of many businesses to open in Hopkinton during the recent months. West Main Street should continue to see increased traffic with the recent expansion and renovation of the Lumber Street Plaza and the newly built West Main Street plaza.

Video: Gateway Green Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Gateway Green was a donor funded project to plant trees, flowers and plants on the west main street median by the 495 exits in Hopkinton. The project was a success and will bring more beautiful scenery to one of the gateways of the town. The Gateway Green Committee planned and helped execute the project, the Committee was made up of: Ken Driscoll, Fin Perry, Peter Mezitt, Jeff Barnes, Scott Richardson and John Westerling.

Founders included: Weston Nurseries, Unibank, Paul Mastroianni. Planters Included: Perkin Elmer, Solect, Rosado & Sons

The 110 Grill officially opened in the new addition to the 1 Lumber Street plaza. Hopkinton is the 4th New England location for the 110 Grill. Currently 110 Grill is located in Berlin, MA, Chelmsford, MA and Nashua, NH. Video: Blackstone Valley Wealth Management LLC. awards 2016 HHS graduate scholarship

Blackstone Valley Wealth Management LLC. announced the recipient of their annual Hopkinton High School Scholarship. The scholarship is rewarded to a Hopkinton High School graduating senior who is pursuing a higher education and is a child in a single-parent home. This years recipient was Andrew Simi. Simi will be attending Umass-Amherst next year studying Operation and Information Management.

The Massachusetts Council of Aging (MCOA) is launching a new Regional Networking Group program right in your local area to support and assist people 50+ years old who are looking for a new job or guidance in transitioning into a new career direction. This program is open to any individual who resides in MA and is 50 years and older. Networking meetings will be held at the Hopkinton COA biweekly on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at 9:00 AM through June 2016.

Speakers included: Hopkinton Chamber President, Scott Richardson, Selectmen Vice-Chair, John Coutinho, Town Manager, Norman Khumalo and Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Cathy MacLeod and local business owner, Harold Nahigian.
