The Hopkinton Police Association held a successful Fishing Derby on Saturday, May 14 at the Hopkinton Sportsman Association.

Kids and teens were invited to fish for some of the approximately 250 fish stocked in the pond and had the chance to win trophies and other prizes. Hopkinton Police officers both current and retired showed their support by helping with the event, handing out food and beverages, and awarding trophies to the participants.

A Note from Hopkinton Youth & Family Services as youth and families continue to process the Ulvade, Texas shooting

It is normal for adults and children to experience a range of reactions following the news of a school shooting and most recently the tragic mass murder of students in Ulvade, Texas. Over the past week we have begun to receive questions about “what is normal” about how reactions are experienced to this tragedy.

The Riverside Trauma Center helps across our state providing response to traumatic incidents and have shared that reactions may include:

According to the DPW weather station, the highest temperature reached in Hopkinton May 23rd through 29th was 80.3 degrees, the lowest was 43.5 degrees. Average temperature during the week in Hopkinton was 63.4 degrees. Humidity was at an average of 71%, the peak was 98% while the lowest was 33%. Rain accumulated 0.71 inches last week. Town Manager Norman Khumalo and Chief Financial Officer Tim O'Leary are pleased to report that Standard & Poor’s Financial Services LLC (S&P) Global Ratings has affirmed the Town of Hopkinton's strong AAA credit rating.

The AAA bond rating represents the highest level of creditworthiness a municipality can achieve and reflects the excellent and stable financial condition of the town.
