Town of Hopkinton Seeks a FT Heavy Equipment Operator for its DPW Department
This position will work under the supervision of a Highway Manager. Operates a variety of motor driven vehicles and equipment including trucks with a rated capacity of more than 26,001 lbs. G.V.W. (Gross Vehicle Weight), tractors, road sweepers, etc. in the provision of public works services; performs all other related work as required.
Qualifications - Applicants must meet the following to be considered qualified for this position:
We are mandated by the town’s water management permit issued by the State, to limit nonessential outdoor use, to protect stream flow, aquatic life and ensure sustainable drinking water. The town is required to implement a MANDATORY State of Water Supply Conservation from May 1st , through September 30th, each year, pursuant to the town’s water use restriction by-law. Under chapter 199-6 Section F; Lawn sprinklers may be used for lawn watering, two days per week, outside of the hours of 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
As we approach the start of our roadway resurfacing season I would like to thank the residents of Hopkinton for their continued support of our Pavement Management Program. We had a very successful 2018 season and hope to continue that in 2019 as funding allows. Each street that is on this year’s list has been inspected and evaluated to determine which treatment method is best based on its current condition. This will help ensure that we are maximizing the use of our roadwork funding.

The Ashland Legion Post 77 Baseball golf tournament fundraiser will be held June 30 at Pinecrest Golf Club in Holliston. Registration and sign in will begin at 7:00AM and the shotgun start will begin at 7:45AM. The fee per player is $95, which includes a full round of golf with a golf cart, a meal afterwards, a mulligan, and an arms length of raffle tickets. Recent Vets Breakfasts have had strong attendance, and everyone has enjoyed the animated discussions of veterans history. Won't you try a taste of a good thing? Hopkinton veterans will gather for breakfast on 3 May 2019, at 0900 hours, at the Hopkinton Senior Center to share hot chow and warm camaraderie.
The Hopkinton Women's Club hosted the 32nd annual "Meet the Candidates Night". This year there are 5 contested races including: Board of Selectmen, Planning Board (2 year term), Commissioners of Parks & Recreation, Town Moderator and Commissioners of Trust Funds. Town Election will take place on Monday, May 20th at Hopkinton Middle School.

The Friends of Whitehall ‘s 14 th spring lake and trail clean-up will be held on Sat.
May 4th 2019 from 9 a.m. until 12 noon, rain or shine. Please come to the boat
landing/parking lot at Whitehall State Park on Wood St. (Rte. 135) to sign in and
be assigned an area of the trail or shoreline to clean up debris and the refuse
from the winter weather. We will also clean up some of the roadsides near the
lake. Gloves, trash bags, bug spray, tools, and water will be provided. Coffee and
