Editorial: Animal Welfare Community Group Urges Hopkinton Selectmen to Revoke Greyhound Friends Kennel License

The animal rescue community has come together to urge the Town of Hopkinton to permanently revoke the kennel license of the dog kennel Greyhound Friends. Many in the community were shocked by a 236-page state report documenting Greyhound Friends’ neglect of sick and injured dogs, including a dog with aggressive cancer.

Hopkinton Veterans Breakfast on August 3rd 2018

Dear Veterans and Friends:

The upcoming Vets Breakfast is on 3 August 2018, at 0900 hours, at the Senior Center bringing you an opportunity to share camaraderie, community, and chow with fellow veterans.

Tribute will be paid to comrades who passed away during the past month, and those who are on "Sick Call" will be acknowledged. It is a generous gesture when you pay a visit or send a card to one or more of our ailing comrades.

Hopkinton Roadwork Notice 7/30-8/2

Crack sealing work will begin on Monday July 30th on the following streets. One lane of traffic will be open at all times. Work is expected to take about 10 days to complete. Work hours will be approximately 7am-3pm. Please do not park any vehicles in the street as it will prevent the contractor from completing the work.

Ast, Bst, Bridgeton Way, Cedar St, Cedar St Ext, Cordaville Rd, Everett Cir, Fawn Ridge Rd, Glen Rd, Hawthorne Ln, Huckleberry Rd, Kruger Rd, Lumber St, Oliver Ln, Overlook Dr, Summit Way, West Main St, Whitman Ln and Wood St.

Marla Murasko stopped by the HCAM studios to speak about her and her Sons State House visit during "Massachusetts Down Syndrome Advocacy Day" and her new book "Adventures with a Special Traveler". Marla's 11 year old son, Jacob was diagnosed with down syndrome and a congenital heart defect.

The Drowsy Chaperone “The Perfect Broadway Musical” comes to Hopkinton’s Enter Stage Left Theater

Enter Stage Left Theater proudly presents, The Drowsy Chaperone, a masterful meta-musical that pokes fun at the tropes that characterize the musical theatre genre. With the houselights down, a man in a chair appears on stage and puts on his favorite record: the cast recording of a fictitious 1928 musical. The recording comes to life and the fun begins.

Hopkinton Roadwork Notice July 25th and 26th 2018

Roadwork is scheduled for the following streets. All work is weather pending so dates may have to be moved forward a day or two should it rain.

7/25 – School St – From West Elm St to Winter St. Milling 7am-4pm.

7/26 & 7/27 – West Main St – From Oakhurst Rd to Downey St. Milling 9am-3pm.

Please expect delays and seek alternate routes.
