Video: Hopkinton Resident Talks Chamberlain-Whalen Neighborhood Coalition

Over 50 Hopkinton households joined together in a neighborhood coalition. A letter sent out to numerous town officials including Town Manager, Norman Khumalo, the Board of Selectmen, Planning Board, Police Chief and Fire Chief. The letter from the Coalition stated that it was started to preserve the character of neighborhoods that would be affected by a proposal by developer, Paul Mastroianni which would add 34 new homes on a road that would connect Chamberlain Street and Whalen Road.

Hopkinton High School Students Seek to Increase Legal Sale Age of Tobacco

On March 29, a group of students from Hopkinton High School went to Boston to attend the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network’s annual state lobby day. "This year, more than 2,800 Massachusetts kids will become new daily smokers. These youth advocates are working to change that." They met with lawmakers to urge support of a comprehensive tobacco control bill, which would, among other things, increase the legal age of sale of tobacco to 21.

Middlesex Sheriff’s Office issues reminder warning on IRS scam calls

MEDFORD, Mass. - As the 2017 tax season draws to a close, Middlesex Sheriff Peter J. Koutoujian today echoed warnings by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to be on alert for scam attempts.

“With April 15 right around the corner, it is likely the number of calls being received by residents from individuals posing as IRS agents – or law enforcement officials collecting on behalf of the IRS – will increase,” said Sheriff Koutoujian. “We want residents to be on guard against attempts by scammers to separate them from their hard-earned money.”

Town of Hopkinton Seeks Firefighter/Paramedic

The Town of Hopkinton is accepting applications to fill two (2) positions and further to establish a list of potential candidates for the FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC positions.

Salary Depending on Qualifications and in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Within twelve (12) months of hire, the Firefighter/Paramedic shall make their principal place of residence within the boundaries of the Town of Hopkinton or at any other place within the Commonwealth that is within fifteen (15) miles boundary to boundary of their town and the Town of Hopkinton.
