Video: Public Ice Rink Installation at Carrigan Park

In a few weeks, there will once again be a public ice skating rink available in Hopkinton. Medway based company, RP Marzilli is handaling the rink installation at the Carrigan Park Little League fields at 85 Main street. The last time Hopkinton had a public ice rink was in the winter of 2015 at the High School tennis courts. The rink is expected to be open in the early part of February but that is as long as the weather cooperates. David Clemons of RP Marzilli talked with HCAM news about the process of the rink installation in the video below.

Taught by Janet Schwartz, "Release Your Inner Artist" is designed to help adults overcome the stumbling block of perception and focus on seeing what is really there. Working with pastels, Janet guides participants to see their subject in darks, lights and mid-tones rather than focusing on the individual’s perception of what objects should look like.

Sheriff Koutoujian announces upcoming Correction Officer exam Registration open until February 13

The Middlesex Sheriff’s Office – this year celebrating its 325th anniversary – is now accepting registrations for the upcoming Correction Officer exam. Registration is open until 1 p.m. on Monday, February 13, 2017 and there is no charge for the exam.

The Director of Public Works hereby terminates the Mandatory State of Water Supply Conservation, effective January 19, 2017, for all customers connected to the municipal water system. This action is the result of the recent change in drought status to our area, the return of ground water to normal levels, and consultation with officials in the town of Ashland regarding the water levels in the Hopkinton Reservoir.

To kick off the Hopkinton Youth Commission Martin Luther King day festivities, the Michael Lisnow Respite Center battled members of the Hopkinton High School Basketball team. After the basketball game Hopkinton High School Teacher and Varsity Lacrosse Coach, Dan Norton spoke about his volunteer experience and the benefits of volunteering. Dan about his experiences volunteering in countries around the world including Mexico, Ecuador and Thailand. View the story below.
