Hopkinton Cultural Council Seeks Funding Proposals

Proposals for community-oriented arts, humanities, and science programs are due October 17, 2016.

The Hopkinton Cultural Council has set an October 17, 2016 postmark deadline for organizations, schools and individuals to apply for grants that support cultural activities in the community.

According to Council spokesperson Barbara Timko, these grants can support a variety of artistic projects and activities in Hopkinton -- including exhibits, festivals, short-term artist residencies or performances in schools, workshops and lectures.

Many local artists and groups were on hand for the 42nd annual Hopkinton Polyarts festival. The packed event took place on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. HCAM news caught up with some of the artists at the event including: Elise Kiscla who was selling homemade crafts to benefit Project Just Because, Chinese Brush Artist, Vartus Varadian, Painter, Dyrick Schaefer and local birdhouse maker, Frank Gross.

Video: Razors Edge Salon Cuts Ribbon on New Location and Celebrates 30 Years

Razor's Edge hosted a ribbon cutting Friday evening for the grand opening of their new location and to celebrate 30 years in business. Owner, Lauren Fitzgerald cut the ribbon to welcome the new location. The salon was formally located at 85 main street and now is located in a brand new building at the 42 Main Street plaza.
