Announcing the 2011 Fall Jam, an outdoor concert for High School students

The beFREE Project and the Laborer's Training Center are co-sponsoring an alternative social event for High School Students featuring musical performances by HHS Students and refreshments. All HHS students are welcome to attend!

For this event we need:

  • 8 - 10 Adult Chaperones
  • Hot chocolate mix
  • Apple cider

28 Teams Complete the Run Around Hopkinton Marathon Relay

Twenty-eight teams of four to six runners participated in the Run Around Hopkinton Marathon Relay Race on Sunday October 2nd. The winning team, "Not This Worm", led by captain Chris Gooley finished with a final time of 2:44:40.

The event kicked off at the high school track early in the morning and team members proceeded through the sixlegs of the relay throughout the day cheered on by family, friends and their team members.

National Honor Society Fall Inductees

The National Honor Society is more than just an honor roll. Scholarship, service, leadership and character are the four areas in which students must demonstrate outstanding performance in order to be accepted.

And on Monday, October 3rd, 91 new students were inducted into the National Honor Society at Hopkinton High.

Hopkinton Fire Department Plans October 16 Open House

Firefighters are always ready to help those in need, but they also teach people how to be safe. Fire Prevention Week is in October, and this year's theme is Home Safety Awareness. Fire Prevention Officer Robert Santucci and Deputy Chief Steve Slaman of the Hopkinton Fire Department are hosting an open house at the end of Fire Prevention Week to teach residents how to be safe in their homes and to show them what the firefighters do when they are called to a fire.

St. Paul’s Fall Rummage Sale October 15

Everyone is looking for bargains these days – and they will find them at St. Paul’s Fall Rummage Sale on Saturday, October 15 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There will be some fantastic deals on adult and children’s apparel and accessories, books, furniture, and other household items! St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is located at 61 Wood Street (Rte. 135) in Hopkinton.

St. John's Holds Successful Bike Drive

A total of 100 bicycles were collected in the parking lot at St. John the Evangelist Parish on Sunday as part of their annual bike drive.

Since 2003, St. John's has collected bikes in conjunction with the Bikes Not Bombs program based in in Jamaica Plain. The donated bicycles are shipped to communities in developing countries as well as donated to teen in Boston. The project is coordinated and run by people at the local level with guidance from Bike Not Bombs Bike Donation Coordinator Stephen Bosco who also attends the actual event.

A New Sign for the Hopkinton Center for the Arts

Kelly Grill of Enter Stage Left Theater, Kris Waldman of the Cultural Arts Alliance, and Kevin Delbridge of the Hopkinton Community Endowment pose next to the new sign for the Hopkinton Center for the Arts at 98 Hayden Rowe Street.
