“Our Town” Celebrates Hopkinton’s 300th Anniversary Pulitzer Prize-Winning Play on Stage at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts

In honor of the town of Hopkinton’s 300th Anniversary, Enter Stage Left Theater (ESL) is bringing Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play Our Town to the stage this November. First produced in 1938, Our Town explores the lives of people living in a small, quintessentially American town. Directed by Paul Champlin. Performances are November 12-15, Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Pond Street will be closed Monday 9am-1pm

The Hopkinton Police would like to advise the community that Pond Street will be closed on Monday September 21st. A contractor will be clearing power lines for Eversource. The work will take place in area of #59 Pond Street and go all day. This work will require the road to be closed between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. Pond Street will be closed between West Elm Street and Winter Street.

Hopkinton Cultural Council Seeks Funding Proposals

Proposals for community-oriented arts, humanities, and science programs are due October 15, 2015.

The Hopkinton Cultural Council has set an October 15, 2015 postmark deadline for organizations, schools and individuals to apply for grants that support cultural activities in the community.

According to Council spokesperson Barbara Timko, these grants can support a variety of artistic projects and activities in Hopkinton -- including exhibits, festivals, short-term artist residencies or performances in schools, workshops and lectures.

On Friday September 18th contractors will be working on the following roads installing ADA compliant sidewalk ramps.

Meserve St at Main St.
Wood St at Elm St.
Main St at West Main St & Wood St. (9am-3pm)

Please expect delays and seek alternate routes when possible.
