2 Hopkinton Men Shot at Holiday Inn Express in Milford

A little after 10am Saturday Morning a shooting was reported in the back lot of Milford's Holiday Inn Express. Investigators determined shots were fired from 2 men. The alleged instigator Thomas E. Coburn III of Hopkinton (51 Years Old) was pronounced dead at Milford Hospital of what appeared to be suicide. Christian Nealon of Hopkinton (48 Years Old) was also armed and shot. Nealon was flown by medical helicopter to UMASS Medical Center in Worcester and stabilized.

HCAM Hosts 203 Pond St Discussion LIVE on February 17th

On Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at 7:00 p.m., HCAM will host a live public discussion on 203 Pond St ahead of town meeting on March 3rd.

Town moderator Bruce Karlin will host this informative discussion, aimed at providing the public with everything they need to know ahead of town meeting. Representatives from Hopkinton and neighboring communities will answer questions on the Community Preservation Act, Open Space, and other key issues relating to this vote.

Middle Eastern Music and Dance at the Hopkinton Library

Head to the Hopkinton Public Library on Wednesday, February 18 at 7:00 PM for a workshop on Middle Eastern music and dance! This participatory workshop features demonstrations of folk & classical instruments (strings, winds & percussion) from both Turkey and the Arab world. You will learn about the exotic sounding modes and scales of the region and then compare musical styles of the East and West. But the highlight of the workshop is when everyone joins in learning easy Middle Eastern folk dances. Fun for all ages!

Colella's Supermarket Reportedly Closing Their Doors

According to local sources, President of Colella's Dale Danahy has announced that after 70 years Colella's Supermarket will be closing their business at 61 Main Street. The Market began in 1945 by Daniel E. Colella with the original store located at 34 Main Street. The market moved to the current location at 61 Main Street in 1955. Three of the six Sisters in the family currently still work in the business; Dale Danahy, Diane McGrath and Sandy Varnum.
