BOSTON – The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) today announced that registration for the 2014 B.A.A. Distance Medley will begin on Wednesday, January 22 at 10:00 a.m. ET and will continue until Wednesday, January 29 at 5:00 p.m. ET. During this exclusive registration window, runners interested in entering all three events of the B.A.A. Distance Medley may register for the series. Registration will be held online at www.baa.org and will be limited to 3,000 entrants. Each of the three races will have its own field size limit.

Greyhound Friends has received a CHALLENGE grant from one of our donors. If we raise $15,000 within two weeks Greyhound Friends receives $15,000. This would help us so much and is an opportunity that we we cannot miss. Our expenses have increased. Greyhounds are transported from Florida, Kansas, and West Virginia. The dogs are isolated for 48 hours, then examined by a vet, and released into the general population. Hounds from the Midwest follow the same process. Transport and vet bills have added to the already high cost of keeping the kennel going.

The community is invited to join a "round-robin" song circle/spoken word tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr. at the Hopkinton Public Library from 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm on Saturday, January 18th. This event is offered as a multi-generational experience for listening audience of all ages. There will be folksingers and performing artists performing meaningful songs and offering spoken word passages as tribute to the work and life of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Each year the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (ESE) surveys parents in select school districts to determine how well your child’s school is communicating with you and promoting your engagement in your child’s education.

We are a DI team in Hopkinton, MA (Aren Arakelian, Niha Gopi, Patrick Webb, Neal Patel, Austin Marques, Izzy Puri, and Eva Kuruvilla). DI stands for Destination Imagination. Destination Imagination is a non-profit, volunteer-led, educational organization that gives students the chance to learn and experience the creative process from imagination to innovation. In this program you choose from a group of challenges and do that challenge over a long period of time (September-March). The project we chose this year was Project Outreach, where you help a community need.

Prizes will be awarded on Jan 31 for the following
age groups: 3-6 years, 7-10 years, 11-14 years,
5-18 years and 18 +.
