Fire Chief William Miller possibly heading to Bellingham

According to the Town of Bellingham Select Board agenda, Hopkinton Fire Chief, William Miller may become the new Fire Chief in Bellingham after 23 years of service to the Hopkinton Fire Department.

The Town of Bellingham Select Board agenda states on April 10th their meeting will include "ratify the appointment of Chief Miller as new Bellingham Fire Chief".

Chief William Miller was sworn in as Hopkinton's Chief in August 2021 after the prior Chief, Stephen Slaman retired after 32 years of service (5 years as Chief) from the Hopkinton Fire Department.

Town of Hopkinton Nears Completion of Main Street Corridor Project Construction Ongoing Since March 2021

Town Manager Norman Khumalo and Town Engineer Dave Daltorio are pleased to share that the final season of construction for the Main Street Corridor Project is underway.

Construction resumed for the spring season on March 17, which is the start of the third and final construction season for the project. Construction began in March 2021, and is expected to end on schedule this fall.

Hopkinton High School Jazz Ensemble Performs at MAJE States

The HHS Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Mr. Jeremy Dodge, performed at the State Massachusetts Association for Jazz Education (MAJE) Festival on Saturday, March 25, at Norwood High School. The Jazz Ensemble was awarded a Gold Award at the 2023 MAJE Central District Festival on March 1st, earning the opportunity to perform at the State Festival. The group earned a Gold Award this past weekend for their performances. Individual awards for Outstanding Musicians went to Ryan Hwang (drums), Abigail Baskin (piano), and JJ Bahri (trombone).

Hopkinton Hosts 2023 MICCA Concert Festival

March 31 - April 2, Hopkinton High School is one of six host sites for the Massachusetts Instrumental & Choral Conductors Association (MICCA) 2023 Concert Festival. Throughout the weekend up to 35 outside school groups will perform in front of highly qualified adjudicators. The public is welcome at all evaluation sites to hear the performances. The one-time admission is valid at all instrumental and choral sites throughout the weekend. All sites will have refreshments for sale as well. For more info, go to www.miccamusic.org
