Expects Delays at West Main and School This Week

Construction at the intersection of School and West Main Streets is ongoing and will continue through next week.

The work along the northerly and southerly legs of School Street will require traffic to be limited to one lane of traffic and may require a limited detour along Dicarlo Road on Wednesday and Thursday of this week, November 20 and 21.

Minor delays are to be expected so please seek alternate routes. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience.

Patrick Administration Announces New Options for Community-based Health Care and Long-term Support

Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) John Polanowicz today announced 33 contracts have been awarded to community-based organizations to help seniors and people with disabilities live independently in their homes and communities with local support services.

A component of the Affordable Care Act, the program is an initiative of the federal Money Follows the Person (MFP) Rebalancing Demonstration Grant aimed to help states reduce their reliance on institutional long-term care and expand options for elders and people with disabilities to receive care in their community.

Hopkinton Cheerleaders Score Highest in State

This past Sunday, November 17, The Hopkinton Cheerleaders (HC) competed in the South Regional Cheerleading Championships at Dartmouth High School, Dartmouth MA. There were three other Regional competitions going on simultaneously; North, Central and West at different locations throughout the state. The South Regional is, by far, the biggest regional competition and arguably the toughest. The Hopkinton Coaches and Cheerleaders went into this competition with high hopes knowing they would be going up against the best of the best.

Local Businesses Raise Money for the Renovation and Expansion of Hopkinton Library

Hopkinton Public Library Foundation wishes to thank three local businesses – P.Y.LE Sweets, SkyZone Indoor Trampoline Park, and Vintage Books – for their partnerships with the Hopkinton Public Library Foundation to assist in fundraising for the much-needed renovation and expansion of Hopkinton Public Library.

Casino Free Milford Seeks Volunteers for Casino Vote

Casino Free Milford has asked for volunteers from the surrounding communities. If you would like to hold a sign at a street corner in Milford today or tomorrow they would welcome your participation.

Volunteers are welcome at Wendys(corner of Dilla and Cedar) Today from 3:30 - 6:30.

Also on Tuesday anytime(7 a.m. to 8 p.m.) at the polling stations. The polling stations are as follows:

On Friday November 15, 2013 at approximately 12:20 A.M., Hopkinton Police received a report of residential breaking and entering in progress off of Lumber St. As officers were responding to this location, a call was received from an alarm company reporting an intruder alarm at a business on West Main Street.

HCA hosts annual Potters Show

The Hopkinton Center for the Arts has announced it will host an exhibit featuring the handcrafted work of the Primarily Potters collective. The exhibit and sale runs November 22-24, 2013 at the HCA Farmhouse (98 Hayden Rowe Street, Hopkinton, MA 01748). The exhibit runs the entire weekend, and new this year it will kick off with an opening Meet the Artists reception on Friday, November 22 from 5:30-7:00 pm, when guests can enjoy refreshments and meet the potters and discuss their craft process and products.
