Town of Hopkinton Special Town Meeting Notice for December 9th 2019

The Hopkinton Select Board has called a Special Town Meeting to be held on Monday, December 9, 2019. All articles or petitions proposed to be included in the special town meeting warrant must be received at the Select Board/Town Manager’s office no later than 4:30 PM on Thursday, November 21, 2019. All articles and petitions must be submitted to: Select Board, Town Hall, 18 Main Street, Hopkinton, MA 01748.

Today, members of the Main Street Alliance delivered our original citizens' petition to the office of the Hopkinton Town Manager, with a copy also hand delivered to the office of the Town Clerk. The petition has over 350 signatures. We will continue collecting signatures.

Community Notice: Parking Ban and Snow Bylaws

The DPW wishes to remind all Hopkinton residents of By-Laws pertaining to the parking of motor vehicles during the winter months.
Traffic Rules and Orders, Town of Hopkinton, Article lV, Section 8 “It shall be unlawful for the driver of any vehicle, other than for an emergency, to park said vehicle on any street between the hours of 1:00am to 6:00am from November 15 through April 1.

The Town of Hopkinton is pleased to announce that Standard
and Poor’s assigned its highest credit rating, “AAA”, to its General Obligation Bonds to be used for
various municipal purposes.

The Triple A Bond rating, as designated by credit rating agencies like Standard & Poor's, represents the
highest level of creditworthiness a municipality can achieve and allows the town to borrow money at the
lowest commercial interest rates possible.

BOSTON — In the wake of a series of high-profile closures of small colleges throughout the Commonwealth, the Massachusetts State Senate unanimously advanced legislation Wednesday that will establish new requirements relative to higher education financial reporting and oversight in an effort to support both students and the institutions of higher education themselves.
