Sheriff Peter J. Koutoujian joins Executive Board of Law Enforcement Leaders to Reduce Crime & Incarceration

Law Enforcement Leaders to Reduce Crime & Incarceration (LEL) has announced that Middlesex Sheriff Peter J. Koutoujian – a founding member – has joined the group’s executive board.

LEL was established in 2015 with a goal of identifying and implementing solutions to reduce both crime and incarceration through a focus on four primary areas including increasing alternatives to arrest and prosecution (especially for mental health and drug treatment); strengthening community-law enforcement ties; reforming mandatory minimums; and restoring balance to criminal laws.

Hopkinton’s BAA Invitational Entries Deadline Brought Forward

Due to a clerical oversight on our part, the Town is bringing forward the deadline to submit your applications for the BAA’s 2022 Boston Marathon Invitational Entries to 12:00 PM on January 18th, 2022. The Select Board will randomly select the recipients later that evening at a public meeting at 6:00 pm.

Bringing forward the submission date and holding the random selection earlier will allow local organizations some time to comply with the BAA registration deadline and, at the same time, extend the fundraising window.

Town of Hopkinton Launches New Online Dog Licensing System for Residents

Town Clerk Connor B. Degan and Director of Information Technology Josh Grossetti are pleased to announce the launch of an online dog licensing system for Hopkinton residents.

Owners can now visit this link to search for their dog to renew their license. Owners with dogs that have previously been registered will also receive an email reminder that will include a link to renew the license. New dog owners can visit the link and click on the "Apply for a New Permit" button in the top right corner of the page.

2022 Boston Marathon Invitational Entry Program Policy Adopted by the Select Board, November 9, 2021.

Pursuant Section 2 of the Hopkinton Marathon Policy, the Select Board will distribute invitational applications for the upcoming 2022 Boston Marathon in the following manner.

Invitational entry applications will be distributed to qualified organizations through a random selection that will take place at a duly constituted public meeting. In order to qualify for the random selection, an organization must fit one of two category descriptions outlined in the Town’s Marathon Policy, namely:

Town Manager Norman Khumalo is pleased to announce the hiring of new Library Services Director Nanci Hill.
Director Hill began her new position as Library Services Director at the Hopkinton Public Library on Dec. 13. In this position, Hill will be responsible for overseeing and managing a wide spectrum of programs, services and resources at the library and will oversee the day-to-day operation of the facility and staff.
