Winter Parking Ban in Affect November 15th 2017

The DPW wishes to remind all Hopkinton residents of By-Laws pertaining to the parking of motor vehicles during the winter months.

Traffic Rules and Orders, Town of Hopkinton, Article lV, Section 8 “It shall be unlawful for the driver of any vehicle, other than for an emergency, to park said vehicle on any street between the hours of 1:00am to 6:00am from November 15 through April 1.

Storm Update 10-31-2017: 3 Roads Open, 4 Remain Closed

As of 10/31/17 12:30pm the following roads are now OPEN and safe for passage:
Hayden Rowe at EMC park
Granite Street
Oak Hurst Road

The following roads remain CLOSED as crews for Eversource, Hopkinton Fire, and Hopkinton DPW work to ensure safe passage:
School st between Dicarlo rd and West Elm st
West Elm is closed between Canteberry and School St.
Pond St. between Erika and Winter
Saddle hill between proctor and Palomino

Senate Passes Sweeping Criminal Justice Reform Bill

BOSTON – Last night, the Massachusetts Senate passed by a vote of 27-10 a comprehensive criminal justice reform package that updates decades old criminal sentencing laws to improve outcomes of our criminal justice system. Among the provisions included in the bill are repealing ineffective mandatory minimum sentences for low level drug offenders, reducing and eliminating over burdensome fees and fines, reforming the bail system, allowing for compassionate release for infirmed inmates, and reforms to the juvenile justice system.

Request for Proposals – Town of Hopkinton Resident Food Security Project

The Town of Hopkinton is seeking proposals from non-profit, 501(c)(3) organizations interested in being the lead entity on a new food security initiative. This new initiative is intended to meet the nutritional needs of Hopkinton residents by seeking innovative ways to expand perishable food programs that are currently being offered. The organization that is chosen to lead this initiative will be granted $25,000 to be disbursed January 1, 2018 and utilized by June 30, 2018.
