Eric Carty is a fixture in Hopkinton. He grew up on Lake Maspenock, has been working for the DPW for 39 years, and is known in town for his insights on weather trends.

What Carty is not as well known for is his passion for hockey. He learned to skate on Lake Maspenock, and growing up, his dream was to become a professional hockey player.

Hopkinton Public Library Children’s Department Expands Weekly Storytime Schedule, Launches Sensory-Friendly Sessions

Library Director Nanci Milone-Hill is pleased to announce that the Hopkinton Public Library's Children's Department has increased its storytime events to twice per week, and is now offering sensory-friendly sessions.

Due to their popularity, Baby-Toddler Storytime and Preschool Storytime are being offered twice per week, as well as one Saturday per month. Baby-Toddler Storytime is now offered Tuesday and Wednesday at 10 a.m., and Preschool Storytime is offered Tuesday and Wednesday at 11 a.m.

Recipients Announced for State Financial Education Grants for Veteran-Serving Institutions

The State Treasurer’s Office of Economic Empowerment (OEE), the Division of Banks (DOB), and the Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation (OCABR) announced the recipients of the 2023 Operation Money Wise grants. These grants provide the resources to non-profit organizations, public agencies, and higher education institutions that serve the military community in Massachusetts for financial education programming.

Hopkinton Town Hall and municipal offices closed on July 3rd through July 5th in observance of Fourth of July

Hopkinton Town Hall and municipal offices (including the Library and the Senior Center) will be closed on July 3rd, 4th and 5th in observance of the Fourth of July holiday. Town Hall, Library, and other municipal buildings will reopen on Thursday July 6th, though the Senior Center will remain closed until Monday July 10th.
