Heather discussed the "Lucky Day Collection" and also revealed that longtime Circulation Desk Attendant, Toni Alexander will be retiring at the end of February as well as some great programs coming up.

Video: Ballot Machines Tested for Special Town Election on Feb 3rd

This past Friday they tested the Ballot Machines at Hopkinton Town Hall for the upcoming Special Town Election on Monday Feb 3rd. The Election features three questions, view the sample ballot above. The voting will take place at Hopkinton Middle School, polls are open from 7am until 8pm.

Community Notice: Dementia Champion Training - Hopkinton Senior Center on Feb 6th 2020

This training will equip you with the knowledge and materials needed to facilitate a Dementia Friends Information Session with community members.
An Information Session is a face-toface session that lasts approximately one hour and is run by a Dementia Friends Champion. It covers the five key messages everyone should know about dementia through activities and discussion.

The goal of the Dementia Friends Information Session is to help community members understand dementia and the small things they can do to make a difference for people living with dementia.

Community Notice: Roadwork Tuesday 1-14-2020 on Wood and West Main St.

Please be advised that the water department will be investigating a potential water leak at the intersection of Wood and West Main Street tomorrow 1/14/2020 starting at 9 AM. The West Main Street, Westbound lane at the lights will be closed and detoured down Wood Street and up Elm during the work. Detail officers will be in place to facilitate traffic. We ask you to please plan ahead. Please see the attached sketch.

Voter Registration Deadline

Tomorrow, January 14, 2020, is the last day to register to vote in the Special Town Election on Monday, February 3, 2020. To ensure those wishing to register can do so, the Town Clerk's Office will be open until 8:00 PM tomorrow night to accept affidavits of voter registration which we will have available in the office at 18 Main Street. Video: Hopkinton Growth Study Committee Hosts 2nd Public Forum

The Hopkinton Growth Study Committee hosted their 2nd public forum at the Hopkinton Senior Center this past Thursday. Committee Member, Chuck Joseph presented some facts about the growth of Hopkinton and how it compares to other towns before the attendees broke into group sessions to discuss various needs of the town.

BOSTON — On January 14th, 2020, Massachusetts State Senate President Karen E. Spilka, in partnership with MetroWest Health Foundation, Call2Talk, MetroWest Medical Center and Framingham State University will host Strategies for Student Stress: A Social-Emotional Learning Forum for K-12 Parents. The forum is designed to help parents and students talk about stress, mental health, and strategies to deal with the many pressures students face today, regardless of age or background.

At this past weeks Select Board meeting, Jessica Ferreira was appointed as a Patrol Officer to the Hopkinton Police Department and the Town Managers appointment of Kimberly Carson to the Senior Services Department as Outreach Coordinator were approved.
