Roadwork is scheduled for Benson Rd & Kimball Rd on Thursday July 28, Friday July 29 & Monday August 1. Crews will be installing asphalt curbing on both sides of the roads

Please expect delays and seek alternate routes when possible.

Hopkinton Public Library Board of Trustees Vacancy

The Board of Selectmen would like to announce the Hopkinton Public Library Board of Trustees has a current vacancy until May 2017. The Board is a five-member elected board responsible for overseeing the library for the benefit of the community. Working closely with the Library Director, members are responsible for establishing library policies and plans, determining the final budget and conducting public relations. The Board meets on the third Thursday, from September through June.

Public Notice: Accident Involving Fire Hydrant

Water-Sewer Manager, Eric Carty has issued the following public notice: Please be advised that there was an accident involving a fire hydrant at a construction site, that caused a large volume of water to flow. That flow has stirred the system and you may experience some discoloration in the water. You may need to let your cold water line flush to help clear your internal pipes.

Legislature Passes Balanced Fiscal Year 2017 Budget, Includes Funding for Hopkinton

(BOSTON) Senate Ways & Means Chair Karen Spilka (D-Ashland) announced today that the Massachusetts Legislature enacted a $39.146 billion state budget for Fiscal Year 2017 yesterday that invests in key areas related to local aid, education, children’s health and safety, housing, health and human services, workforce training and economic development. The budget reflects a conservative tax revenue outlook and focuses on opportunities for savings while preserving key programs and services, with emphasis on preserving local funding.

Hopkinton Board of Health Vacancy Announcement

On June 28, 2016, the Hopkinton Board of Health notified the Board of Selectmen of a vacancy on the Board of Health due to a resignation and are currently seeking candidates for this position.

Pursuant to Town Charter provision 31(e), a joint meeting, consisting of the remaining members of the Hopkinton Board of Health and the members of the Board of Selectmen, will (tentatively) convene on August 9th at a regularly scheduled Board of Selectmen meeting to appoint an individual to temporarily fill this one seat until the next Annual Town Election in May of 2017.

The Town of Hopkinton seeks Per Diem Public Safety Dispatchers

The Town of Hopkinton is seeking qualified applicants for Public Safety Dispatchers to work on a per diem (as needed) basis. Applicants must be willing to work nights, weekends, overnights, holidays and with short notice.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to answering emergency and non-emergency calls for Police, Fire and EMS, performance of Emergency Medical Dispatch, dispatching emergency personnel, as well as other related duties.

A contractor working for the Town of Hopkinton in preparation for street resurfacing will be installing asphalt shim work on Wednesday July 6th and Thursday July 7th from 7:00 AM-4:00 PM on the following streets.

South Mill St – Ash St to Holliston line (Wednesday & Thursday)
Saddle Hill Rd – Edgehill Rd to Fruit St (Thursday)

Roads will be closed to through traffic. Please seek alternate routes.

Video: Gateway Green Beautifies West Main Street

Gateway Green was a donor funded project to plant trees, flowers and plants on the West Main Street median by the 495 exits in Hopkinton. The project was a success and will bring more beautiful scenery to one of the gateways of the town. The Gateway Green Committee planned and helped execute the project, the Committee was made up of: Ken Driscoll, Fin Perry, Peter Mezitt, Jeff Barnes, Scott Richardson and John Westerling.
