Beginning with Article 34, Hopkinton’s annual Town Meeting entered its second night of voting. Article 34, Fire Department Tender Truck, was up for consideration after a reversal of a take no action recommendation from the previous night. After some debate and questions about cost and trade-in values of the old truck, the article passed with a 2/3 majority.

HCAM News is pleased to announce its first HCAM News Candidate Focus, a live debate for selectmen and school committee candidates. It will take place on Monday, May 9th , beginning at 7PM in the HCAM Studio. The moderator for the event is US Government & History Teacher Nancy Clark and the panel will include Michelle Murdock, HCAM News Director, Sarah Duckett, Editor & Publisher, The Hopkinton Independent and Deborah Gauthier, Editor, The Hopkinton Crier.

Town Meeting: Monday Night Recap

The first night of Hopkinton's Annual Town Meeting finished tonight at 11PM. Articles #1 - #34 were completed. Article 34: Fire Department Tender Truck - a motion for No Action failed. A new article will be presented tomorrow night when Town Meeting reconvenes on Tuesday, May 3 at 7PM in the Hopkinton Middle School.

Hopkinton's Third Annual Spring Green Up

At their booth at the recent HPTA Green Expo, members of Hopkinton's Sustainable Green Committee, HopGreen, were on hand to promote recycling and to talk about what the committee is doing to keep Hopkinton green. Reactions of BOS to Historic District Commission Vote

At their meeting on Tuesday night, the Board of Selectmen took the Historic District Commission to task for ther last minute change of position on the proposed library expansion.

While initially voting to support the library plans a few months back, members of the appointed committee recently met and voted not to endorse the two articles on the Warrant (#49 and #53) related to the library expansion plans.
