In Support of School Committee Hiring Process

contribute's picture

Dear Editor,

Last week the Hopkinton School Committee selected Cathy MacLeod to serve the citizens of Hopkinton as the next Superintendent of Schools. Their decision followed a very thorough process I was pleased to participate in, along with several other Hopkinton residents, as a member of the Superintendent Search Committee.

In Response to Dykema's Response

Dear Editor,

I am writing to respond Rep. Dykema’s letter explaining her vote against putting committee votes online. The day after her vote in the House, the Senate voted to put these votes online. Our representative is being misleading at best.
Let me further remind everyone that last year when questioned about putting these votes online, she said the technology was now there and she would “absolutely” vote for it.

Holliston Voter Says Dykema's Third Term Off to Bad Start

Dear Editor,

It seems that Rep. Dykema’s start of her third term is off to a very bad start. First, she takes an overseas junket and doesn’t state who paid for it. Hey, it was on water quality so it is ok. Has she not heard of skype?

Dykema files legislation to charge everyone for school transportation. She never looks for a savings, just more of our money.

Disappointed with Dykema

Dear Editor,

I’m writing to express deep disappointment in Rep. Dykema. Last October Marty Lamb criticized Dykema for voting against putting committee votes online. Even the moderator challenged her about voting against this common sense transparency reform. At that point in the debate, she said she would now support putting these votes online. That promise was very short lived.

In the third vote to happen this year, she voted against it again. This is a prime example of a politician saying anything to get elected and then doing the opposite on Beacon Hill.

Dykema Accused of Reversing Position

Dear Editor,

Last fall during the Hopkinton debate for State Representative, Carolyn Dykema changed her position on putting committee votes online. Despite voting against it twice, she pledged moving forward that she would vote in favor of letting the public know about these votes by putting them online.

Unfortunately, she did not keep that commitment. Only 3 roll calls into the new session, she broke that promise! That’s right, the third vote of the year she went back on her word.

Why You Should Give Blood: "Mary's Story"

From Hopkinton resident Jackie Potenzone:

I read an article in the news on the critical shortage of blood at this time and the need for donations. I want to tell you why I donated blood after reading the story, and why I'm now a blood donor.

Supporting Marty Lamb

Dear Editor,

Our state’s unemployment has jumped up for the 3rd straight month in a row. If we want to turnaround our economy, the Commonwealth must be more business friendly. Only one candidate for State Representative has a plan. That candidate is Marty Lamb.

Former Selectman Supports Dykema

A vote for Carolyn Dykema for State Representative in the 8th Middlesex District will help continue a fine tradition for all the residents in the District. Over the years my neighbors and I have been very ably represented at the State House by folks like Barbara Gardner, Paul Loscocco, and most recently Dykema—folks from different parties but dedicated to common principles— professionalism, ethics, commitment and stewardship.

Dykema Endorsement

We are offering our endorsement of Carolyn Dykema to continue as State Representative for Massachusetts’ 8th Middlesex District. We base this decision on a number of areas of success and achievement during her first two terms, including her demonstrated ability to work with other legislator to get things done, as well as her ongoing support for education and our veterans.

In support of Carolyn Dykema for re-election for state rep. of the 8th district.

To me Carolyn Dykema is the definition of “good people”.
She is a tireless advocate who cares about our community.

She has reached out to me when my family has been hurting,
she has reached out to my son to help with an Eagle scout project,
she has reached out to the seniors,
she has reached out to veterans,
she has reached out on the environment,
and has reached out to support our children’s education.
