Public Input Sought for Strategic Planning

The Hopkinton School Committee is beginning the process of developing a new 5-year Strategic Plan to guide the work of the district. The School Committee is seeking input from across the community to use as the foundation for targeted goals and outcomes. To gather information from the community, Dr. MacLeod will facilitate the following series of Focus Groups with staff, students, administrators, parents, community members, and local business owners. A community wide survey will also be conducted during the month of November.

Cournoyer Receives Severance

Details of former principal Mike Cournoyer's resignation have been released by Superintendent Dr. Cathy MacLeod. Put on leave of absence effective September 19, Cournoyer's resignation was announced on Friday, November 1.

In an email received tonight by HCAM News, MacLeod provided the financial details of the amount of the severance for Mr. Cournoyer and the cost to the district.

Hiller Cheerleaders Take 1st Place in TVL Championship

Congratulations Hopkinton Hiller Cheerleaders (HHC)… you did it again!! First place in the Tri-Valley League (TVL) Championships for the second year in a row. The competition was held last night, October 30, at Bellingham High School. There were eight teams competing last night; two in the junior varsity category and six were competing as varsity squads.

Elementary School Building Committee Tours Irvine Property

Following their timeline of community engagement activities, members of the Elementary School Building Committee toured the privately owned 28-acre site known as the Irvine property on Wednesday, October 23.

Come and Support the Hopkinton Cheerleaders!

The Hopkinton Hiller Cheerleaders proved once again why they are one of the best cheer squads in the state. They competed Sunday October 27, 2013 at the Marlboro Cheer Invitational Competition in Marlboro, MA. This was a large competition; with a morning and an afternoon session. There were 33 teams in the first session (Hopkinton was in the first session) and 21 teams in the second, afternoon session. The girls came in second in the morning session missing first place by only HALF A POINT.

The 17th Annual Pumpkin Prom – This Sunday!

The HPTA is honored to be taking over the Annual Pumpkin Prom event, a special father-daughter dance previously hosted by the Lion’s Club. The event will take place on October 27th from 5:30 until 8 pm in the Hopkins School gym and cafetorium. Fathers or other special adults can enjoy dancing with their daughters to music selected by D.J. Kathi Zerkle. There will be raffles, refreshments and a craft. Corsages and keepsake photos will be available for purchase.

Keefe Regional Technical High School Open House Nov. 23

Keefe Regional Technical High School will hold an Open House and Breakfast on Saturday, November 23, 2013 from 8:30 am - 11:00 am for all middle school tudents and 9th and 10th Graders in Ashland, Framingham, Holliston, Hopkinton and Natick.
