Not doing anything Sunday morning? On March 10, come and see the Hopkinton Cheerleaders compete for the State Division 2 Crown. Competition starts 10:30 AM at Tantasqua Regional High School in Fiskdale, MA. (Fiskdale is slightly northwest of Sturbridge MA.)
"It truly is a wonder to watch these girls compete," said John Cardillo. "The timing involved in their routine, their athleticism and their sheer determination to succeed each time they get on the mat, brings pride to their community and especially to their families."
To mark the March 2nd birthday of children's author Dr. Seuss, the National Education Association launched its Read Across America Day program 12 years ago, with the goal of using Seuss's work as a vehicle to encourage reading.
Hopkinton High School students Ryan Turano '15, Blair Guild '13 and Travis Murdock '14 performed at the 2013 Massachusetts All-State Concert on Saturday, March 2 at Boston's Symphony Hall. Ryan and Travis performed with the All-State Band and Blair performed with the All-State Chorus. More than 2000 students from across the Commonwealth auditioned for places in the All-State groups. The students attended rehearsals over a three-day conference at the Seaport World Trade Center which culminated in the performance at Symphony Hall.
The Hopkinton School Committee is pleased to announce that they have reached an agreement with Ms. Cathy MacLeod to serve as the Superintendent of Schools. Ms. MacLeod will assume the Superintendent position as of July 1, 2013. The committee unanimously supported the 3 year contract that includes a salary of $170,000.00.
The School Committee, is pleased to report that an agreement has been reached between the Committee and the Hopkinton Teachers’ Association. The School Committee unanimously supported the agreement following endorsement recommendations made by negotiating team members Dr. Hiersche, Rebecca Robak and Scott Aghababian. This multi-year agreement includes modest wage increases to our valued professionals, allowing us to keep our salaries competitive with surrounding communities.
Come cheer on your favorite players as they go up against the world famous Harlem Wizards in an exciting trick basketball game! This family fun event will include concessions, autographs, souvenirs and opportunity drawings (one to include an iPad2). Fun for all ages!
