HMS Sports Updates 9-27-2016

Jesse Chambers scored a goal off an assist from Ethan Champlin as the HMS boys’ soccer team fell to defeat yesterday versus Milford. Patrick Crantz played very well in Goal. The boys next play at Millis on Thursday. Friday’s game has been rescheduled until October 19.

The Hopkinton Middle School cross country teams beat Medfield on Medfield’s hilly 2-mile course on September 26. Hopkinton’s girls won, 25-31, and the boys won, 24-31.

Hillers Sports Update 9-26-2016

- Hopkinton Hillers Field Hockey (4-1-2) lost to Nipmuc 1-0

- Hillers Girls Soccer (1-3-3) tied a tough Millis (5-3-1) team 0-0.

- Hillers Boys Soccer (3-3-1) ties Millis (2-4-2) 1-1

The 8th grade field hockey team dominated at Natick yesterday with a 3-0 win. Excellent offensive pressure the entire game prevented Natick from taking a single shot on goal. Two goals from Alyssa Souza and another from Sarah Doyle were all assisted by Tate Frederick. Nice job for such a solid team effort -kudos Team!

Hillers Sports Update 9-23-2016

High School Updates:

-HIllers Varsity Boys Soccer defeats Bellingham 6-0. Hillers improve to 2-3-0 on the season.

-Hillers Varsity Girls Soccer defeats Bellingham 6-1. Hillers earn their 1st win of the season and improves to 1-3-2.

-Dover-Sherborn defeats the Hillers on the golf course 211-215. Hillers golf is now 7-2 on the season.

Hopkinton Sophomore, Caitlyn Halloran Receives Boston Globe All Scholastics Award

Hopkinton Sophomore, Caitlyn Halloran was awarded the "Boston Globe All Scholastics Award". The award is given out to exceptional student athletes throughout the state.

The Boston Globe Article stated the following about Caitlyn: "After finishing first in the Division 3 pentathlon with a meet record 2,955 score, Halloran went on to win the All-State meet with another record of 3,028. She was also named the Outstanding Athlete at the Freshman-Sophomore meet."

Hillers Sports Update 9-22-2016

8th Grade Field Hockey opened at Westwood with a nail biter and a 0-0 result. Nice net by Sophie Driscoll and Vani Sharma combined with a strong offense and solid defense challenged the Westwood squad. Hillers Field Hockey stands at 4 wins, 2 ties, 0 losses after tying a tough Dover-Sherborn team 0-0. Dover-Sherborn is now 3 wins, 1 tie, 1 loss on the season. Hillers Field Hockey is next at home Friday (9/23) against Medfield at 3:30pm.

On September 15th, Hillers Girls Soccer took on Norton. A good defensive clash but the scoring opened up a bit in the 2nd half. Norton netted 2 goals and held on to win 2-1. The Hillers girls currently have no wins, 2 losses and 2 ties. Their most recent game was a 1-1 tie on the road vs Holliston.

On September 20th the Hillers boys took on Holliston. The Panthers netted a goal in each half and took the game 2-0. It was the 4th win in a row and 4th shutout in a row for undefeated Holliston. Hillers boys stand at 2 wins, 2 losses on the season.

HMS Soccer Team Opens Season with Victory Over Ashland

The Middle School boys' soccer team opened their season with a 2-1 victory versus Ashland. Ethan Champlin opened the scoring in the first half with a goal assisted by Danny Andrews. Ashland tied the game 1-1. About midway into the 2nd half Danny Andrews scored the game winner assisted by Rex Lind. Playing particularly well defensively for the Hillers was John Mastrangelo, Justin Wade and Jack Varner. Patrick Crantz earned the victory in goal. The boys play in Mendon today after school. Their next home game is Friday on Field 5.

Hillers @ Westwood is candidate for Fox 25 Friday Night High School Game of the Week

This coming Fridays, Hopkinton VS Westwood game is a candidate for the Fox 25 game of the week! Support the Hillers and vote here! The game is a road game for the Hillers at Westwood high school and kicks off at 7pm. Last year when the teams met up in Hopkinton, Westwood came back to beat Hopkinton in the closing minutes of the game.
