Jim Montalto, Leah Holmes and Maggie Sloan to Run the 2016 Boston Marathon for the Hopkinton Public Library Foundation

Hopkinton resident Jim Montalto and Hopkinton natives Leah Holmes and Maggie Sloan (pictured) will run the 2016 Boston Marathon to raise money for the restoration, renovation and expansion of Hopkinton Public Library.

The Hiller Hockey team continues to ride the wave of success into uncharted waters, winning their 13th straight, as they move on in the state tournament. Hopkinton has outscored their opponents 8-1 in the first two games. The #3 seed in the Division 3 South bracket, opened the first round with a convincing 4-0 win over Bourne at the Gallo area in Bourne. The goals were scored by, Cam Finlayson (100th career point), Jack Sloan, and Will Abbott added 2. Assists were credited to JH Vokey, Owen Delaney, Will Pickens, Steve Simoes, Everett Rolph and Finlayson with 2.

Hillers Girls Basketball Advances

On Thursday Night (3/3) the 4th seeded, 14 and 6 Hopkinton Lady Hillers took on the 5th seeded 13 and 7 Ashland Clockers in the Central Division 2 Quarterfinals. The Hillers pulled off the victory 54-47 in a great battle with cross-town rival Ashland. Julia Canestrari led the way for the Hillers with a team high 17 points.

The Hockey team made a statement in their first round playoff game against Bourne, picking up a 4-0 Win before a packed crowd including a great showing from the student body. After a scoreless 1st that saw the Hillers out shoot Bourne 12-4, Hopkinton opened the scoring on a beautiful pass play from JH Vokey to Cam Finlayson, on what turned out to be the game winner. Finlayson took the cross ice pass firing it home for his 100th career point as a Hiller .

Hillers Basketball Playoff Games

The Hopkinton Hillers boys who clinched a playoff spot Wednesday night by stunning Westwood 63-61 will be on the road for the Central Division 2 Quarter Finals round of the playoffs. They will take on TVL rival Medfield, Friday Night @ Medfield. Game tips off at 7:00pm.

The Hillers girls who finished the regular season 14-6 earned a home game for the Central Division 2 Quarter Finals and first round bye. The Lady-Hillers will take on Ashland Thursday Night at 7:00pm in the HHS Athletic Center.
