Video: Hillers Hockey Advances to State Semi-Finals

On Sunday March 10th at Gallo Arena in Bourne, the Hopkinton Hillers Boys Hockey team defeated Ashland 6-2 to claim their 1st ever sectional title. Steven Simoes scored a goal with 13 seconds left in the 1st. The Hillers exploded in the 2nd with 5 more goals: (14:10 left) Tommy Hamblet Assisted by Kyle Rogers, (11:55 left) Steven Simoes, (11:06 left) Kyle Rogers assisted by Sean Walsh, (0:29 left) Tommy Hamblet Assisted by Sean Walsh. Tommy Hamblet landed the hat trick with another goal in the 3rd at 12:08 left.

On Thursday February 28th, the 11th seeded Hillers took on 6th seeded Bishop Stang in the 1st round of the playoffs. Tommy Hamblet netted a goal at 4:35 left in the 1st period to give the Hillers a 1-0 lead. Kyle Rogers made it 2-0 off a Hamblet assist in the 2nd period with 9:38 left. The Hillers added 2 more goals in the 3rd period. Kyle Rogers netted a goal at 7:28 left and Steve Simoes a few minutes later to secure the 4-0 win and advance on to the quarterfinals.

HHS ALPINE SKI TEAM SENDS 6 TO CHAMPIONSHIP

Hopkinton High School Athletics is proud to announce that it is sending six of its athletes to the
2019 MIAA Alpine Ski State Championship, held at Wachusett Mountain in Princeton,
Massachusetts on February 27th. At the state championship, racers have the opportunity to
compete against the top high school racers from across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
This is the third year of the Hopkinton High School Alpine Ski Team. Consisting of 19 athletes
(15 boys and 4 girls), the team competes in the Central Mass Conference Ski League (CMCSL).

Hopkinton Hillers Boys Basketball finished off the regular season as a playoff qualifier with a record of 14 and 6. Their last regular season game was a 63-57 win over the Wayland Warriors. The win gave the Hillers the 4th seed in the Central Division 2 sectionals and Wayland got knocked down to the 5th seed and set up a Hillers-Wayland rematch to open the 1st round of the 2018-2019 state tournament. The Hillers-Wayland rematch will take place at the Hopkinton Athletic Center, Wednesday February 27th at 6:30pm.
