Jay Golden Named Hiller Baseball Head Coach

HCAM News has just been informed that Jay Golden, a Special Education teacher at Hopkinton High School, has just been named the new head coach of the Hiller Varsity Baseball team.

Junior Varsity Assistant Coach Eric Carty sends us the latest scores in Hiller Hockey:

The JV's lost their first game in a close match to the Starhawks by a score of 2-1. Brandon Carty had the goal for the Hillers.

The Varsity lost it's first game to Holliston 4-0 on Saturday and fell to Westwood last night by a score of 7-2. Freshman Jordan Carroll had a goal, along with Eric Guilmette.

Coaches Corner: Girls Basketball Tri-Captains

In the latest episode of Coaches Corner, host Chuck Joseph talks to the captains of the Hiller Girls Basketball team. The girls think back to the excitement of last year's season and look forward to another successful year.

In addition to speaking to the captains as a group, Joseph also talked to each captain individually.

HHS Track

Both the Hillers girls and boys track teams ran away with the competition on December 14th, with each team winning convincingly against Tri-Valley League rival Holliston. Both teams added another victory to extend their unbeaten records this season to 3-0, with the girls cruising to a 66-19 victory and the boys easily winning 63-23. Each team achieved their victories thanks to several first place finishes, with the girls winning 9 of 10 events and the boys finishing first in 8 out of 10 events.

Tri-Valley League Indoor Track and Field Results from today's meet against Holliston. Both the Boys and Girls teams were winners.

Hopkinton Cheerleaders Ask For Your Support

The Hopknton Varsity Cheerleaders will be representing Hopkinton High School at the 2012 United Sates Spirit Nationals at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. While they are very fortunate to have a chance to compete, this also means that they will need to finance the trip for 19 athletes and two chaperones. The estimated cost of the trip is approximately $18,000.

Hopkinton Cheerleaders to Host Drop & Shop

In order to raise money for their trip to compete at Nationals in Florida in March, the Hopkinton High School Cheerleaders will host a Drop and Shop on Saturday, December 17 from 12-4pm at the Learning Center located at 59 Wood Street in Hopkinton.

Drop your kids off from 12-4pm while you shop, go to lunch or tend to other holiday errands. All babysitting will be provided by the Cheerleaders with parental supervision.

The cost is $20 per child for 4 hours of babysitting. Please RSVP to Cindy Cardillo at 508-497-9952 to reserve a spot for your child.

Powder Puff Football and Thanksgiving Classic All Day Thursday

Here are some highlights from Friday night's Powder Puff football game. HCAM will be taping the Thanksgiving Day Classic against the Ashland Clockers starting at 10am on Thanksgiving. Watch for replays of the football game and the Powder Puff game all day on Thursday after noon.

Parks and Recreation Public Hearing Details Ice Rink Proposal

On Thursday, November 17, Room 2121 at Town Hall was filled to overflowing for the Parks and Recreation Public Hearing to gather feedback from residents about the use of the 19 acre parcel of land given by Legacy Farms for community use.

One proposal being considered, as a result of a recent Parks and Recreation survey, is an ice rink. Demons Youth Hockey President Jack Bloomer explained the plans which have already been presented to the Board of Selectmen.
