Main St. Corridor Project Update: Construction Advisory No. 32 June 17, 2022 Two Week Look Ahead

– No Work on Monday, June 20 in observance of Juneteenth, Eastbound Detour on Main Street at 135/85

Intersection – 6/21/22 - 6/24/22
An eastbound detour on Main Street will be in place from Tuesday June 21, through Friday, June 24. Eastbound traffic will be detoured up Grove St., across Maple St., and back to Main St. via Hayden Rowe. Westbound traffic on Main St. will remain open. Access to Walcott St. via Main St. will not be available Friday, June 17 and Tuesday, June 21.

Parking spaces on the south side of Main St. may be impacted, but access to businesses will be maintained. The detour will remain in place during daytime working hours only. Walcott St. will be open to two-way traffic during this time to allow access via Cedar St. Main St. will be opened up at the end of the day to at least one lane of alternating traffic. At that time, Walcott St. will revert back to one-way traffic.

What to Expect for the Week of June 21, 2022 to June 24, 2022
• Saw Cut for Ductbanks
• Electric Ductbanks from 25 Main Street to 52 Main Street
• Complete Service Connections from the Fire Station towards CVS
• Complete Traffic Signal at Wood Street intersection with Main Street
• Start Historic Wall at 35 Main Street
• Start Concrete Retaining Wall at CVS
• Remove Frames & Covers from Manholes (from Wood Street towards the Fire Station

What to Expect for the Week of June 27, 2022 to July 1, 2022
• Begin Phase I of full-depth excavation of Main Street (between Wood St. and the 135/85 intersection)
• Saw Cut for Ductbanks
• Continue Service Connections from the Fire Station towards CVS
• Electric Ductbanks from 52 Main Street to Utility Pole at Cedar St (Next to 52 Main Street)
• Electric Ductbanks from 2 Main Street to the Utility Pole at Hayden Rowe (next to 2 Hayden Rowe) • Start Historic Wall at 25 Main Street
• Continue Concrete Retaining Wall at CVS
• Eastbound Detour may be used if needed
