Hopkinton Hillers Boys Indoor Track & Field captured the Division 2 State Championship on Wednesday at the New Balance Track in Boston, MA. The Hillers totaled 69.5 points to finish a half point ahead of 2nd place Concord-Carlisle and 1st in a field of 27 teams.
The Hillers totaled 69.5 points; 20 points (55m Hurdles), 8 points (2 Mile), 8 points (1 Mile), 14 points (300 Dash), 6 point (4×200 relay), 8 points (4×400 relay), 0.5 (High Jump), 5 points (shot-put).
For the Hillers in the 55 meter hurdles, Harry Millar finished 1st at 7.45 (10 pts), Jacob Logan finished 2nd at 7.75 (8 pts) and Braden Lu finished 7th at 7.96 (2 pts). Sean Finnegan finished 2nd place in the 2 mile with a time of 9:33.30 (8 pts) and also took 2nd place in the 1 mile with a time of 4:26.63 (8 pts). In the 300 meter dash, Ian Weilding finished at 35.66 to take 2nd place (8 pts), Iago Ferreira took 3rd (6 pts) with a time of 35.71. The Hillers took 3rd with the team of Ian Weilding, Iago Ferreira, John Knutson, Harry Millar, Kyle Carson in the 4×200 relay with a time of 1:31.65 (6 pts) and the Hillers team of Iago Ferreira, Ian Weilding, Jason O’Connell, John Knutson took 2nd in the 4×400 relay with a time of 3:30.47 (8 pts). Mason Barros finished in a tie for 8th place capturing 0.5 points in the high jump with a mark of 6’0″ and Ryan Morin finished 4th capturing 5 points with a mark of 46′ 2½.

The Hiller Girls team finished 9th place out of the field of 24 with 22 points.
