William Guthrie (78) died Monday June 29, 2026 at Framingham Metrowest Medical Center after a year-long battle with cancer. He was the husband of Carol (Drowne) Guthrie to whom he was married for 39 years. Born in Bangor Maine, he was a true outdoorsman and loved fishing, hunting and gardening.
William is predeceased by his parents William and Agatha (Schiller) Guthrie and his brother Jerome Guthrie. He leaves behind his sisters Maryellen Polard and Margaret Guthrie of Brewer Maine. In addition to his wife Carol, he is survived by his stepdaughters Patricia Guin of Westboro and Sandra (Leonard) Bomba of Milford and several other family members.
A celebration of life will follow in the coming months. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Tufts Cancer Care Center of Framingham.
