Hopkinton Boys & Girls Cross Country defeat Medfield in 1st run on new HHS XC course!

Boys Cross Country: Hopkinton defeats Medfield 19-44 and improves to 4 and 0 on the season!
(Contributed Update) – Hopkinton Boys Cross Country Improves to 4–0 with Win Over Medfield!

The Hopkinton High School Boys Cross Country team continued its undefeated season on Wednesday, defeating Medfield 19–44 on a new 2.9-mile home course at Hopkinton High School.

Junior captain Matt Fitzgibbons led the Hillers with a first-place finish, followed by Medfield’s Bryce Jennings in second. A strong pack of Hopkinton runners followed, led by junior captain Jack Cooper, Beni Robledo, Sam Stephen, Finn Ayube, and Junior Captain Lucas Arnold. Thunn Wongchaisuwat and Charlie Powers continued the strong team effort, finishing just one second apart. Ryan Siber and Peter Recos rounded out Hopkinton’s top ten.

The Hillers are now 4–0 and will race Holliston away next week.

Girls Cross Country: Hopkinton defeats Medfield 19-37 and improves to 2 and 2 on the season!
(Contributed Update) – Hopkinton girls cross country team ran to a 19-37 win on Hopkinton’s new course at Hopkinton High School. The team previously competed at Hopkinton State Park. Senior Jillian Toran flew to a 35 second win on Hopkinton’s brand-new course at Hopkinton HS, establishing a course record of 19:30 on the 2.9 mile course. Senior Isabel Walker took a strong second. Junior Caitlin Pletcher took fourth with seniors Lila Heling and Phoebe Klein fifth and seventh to secure the scoring spots. Junior Mairead Flynn provided back up in tenth, then a trio of Hillers, senior Megan Han, freshman Allison Pletcher, and senior Avery Merrill placed 12, 13 and 14. The Hillers recognized seniors Han, Heling, Klein, Merrill, Addie Morrissey, Toran, Syeda, and Walker following the meet. The Hillers compete next Wednesday at Holliston.
