World Meditation Day 2025 on Sunday Dec 21st

Our local community will join more than 150 cities in the second annual World Meditation Day celebration. Teachers and volunteers in Hopkinton MA are excited to host an in-person event at YMCA.

December 21st has been officially proclaimed  World Meditation Day by the United Nations, recognizing meditation as a vital tool for peace, resilience, and global unity. This global observance is now inspiring cities worldwide—including ours—to host local gatherings and participate in this historic moment.

The Art of Living Foundation is hosting a free local event at ASU, where attendees can join the livestream, connect with neighbors, and experience a moment of collective calm ahead of the holiday season. This global meditation is expected to bring together millions across countries and time zones. Last year’s event set a Guinness World Records title for the most viewers of a guided meditation livestream. Join the Millions.

The meditation will be led by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar live from NYC, internationally respected spiritual leader, humanitarian, and peacemaker. He was recently honored with the 2025 World Leader for Peace and Security Award by the Boston Global Forum.
