On Friday May 8th starting at 6:30pm, HCAM will host this year’s annual Hopkinton Town Election contested races debates. This year’s ballot includes two contested races; two candidates for one (3-year) Board of Health seat and 3 candidates for two (3-year) School Committee seats.
Due to response from only one of the two candidates running for the open Board of Health seat, we unfortunately cannot host a debate for this race but will be providing another opportunity for the candidates in this contested race to be heard from by the community. Candidates in the Board of Health race include; Nasiba Mannan (incumbent) & Dimitry Zuckerman.
For School Committee, our debate will begin at 6:30pm and features three candidates for two open (3-year) seats on the School Committee. Candidates in this race include; Kyla McSweeney (incumbent), Sandra Irwin & Sravana Krishna.
Please note, one of the School Committee candidates stated they may not be able to attend due to prior commitments but we expect to have a statement from that candidate which will be read live during the debate. We are also planning to give the community further opportunities to hear from the candidates in this years contested races. You will hear more about that soon.
We invite the public to watch live on our HCAM-TV channel (Comcast Channel 8, Verizon Channel 30) or on our youtube page. We also want to remind you that this year’s Hopkinton annual Town Election takes place on Monday May 18th at Hopkinton Middle School (Polls are open 7am until 8pm). For more information about the election you may visit the Town of Hopkinton website. If you haven’t already, we also invite you to view last week’s Hopkinton Women’s Club Meet the Candidates Night to get to know the candidates in this years Hopkinton Town Election.
