-Girls Indoor Track & Field: Hopkinton defeats Westwood 69-25
(Contributed Update) – Hopkinton girls indoor track & field team beat Westwood, 69-25 on Tues, Dec 30 at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center in Boston. For the Hillers, junior Bella Walkiewicz won two events (55m hurdles and long jump) and placed second in the 300m and senior Abby Burke won the 300m and took second in two events (shot put and 55m). Other event winners for Hopkinton included junior Callie Owens (55m), senior Chloe Tumbleton (1000m), and senior Kaelyn Faber (shot put). Sophomore Clara Bransfield and junior Kylie Rogers each picked up a second and a third place in hurdles and long jump. Other second place finishers included senior Ali Desmond (mile), senior Meaghan Burdulis (600m), junior Isabel Walker (high jump), junior Jillian Toran (1000m), and junior Wafiya Syeda (2 mile). Freshman Grace Getchell placed third in the 55m dash, junior Grace Gallagher took third in high jump and senior Julia Nickerson placed third in shot put. The Hillers, whose dual meet record now stands at 3-0, face Ashland next on Thursday, January 8 at The Reggie.

In the Hillers win over Westwood, Hiller top performances included; Iago Ferreira finished 1st in the 300 meters with a time of 37.35, Sean Finnegan finished with a time of 1:32.53 in 600 meters, Matthew Fitzgibbons with a time of 2:47.65 in the 1000 meters, Gavin Scott with a time of 4:56.39 in the 1 mile, Sean Finnegan with a time of 10:35.08a in the 2 mile, Harry Millar (7.83), Jacob Logan (8.03), Braden Lu (8.56) finished top 3 in 55m hurdles, Hopkinton finished with a time of 3:41.04 in 4×400 relay, Ryan Morin won the shot put with a mark of 43-09.50, Mason Barros had a mark of 5-10.00 in the Varsity High Jump and Jacob Logan scored a 19-08.50 in the long lump. Hopkinton Boys improve to 3 and 0 on the season.
