Invitation from Elaine Lazarus, Director Land Use, Planning and Permitting:
At the Planning Board meeting on Monday, May 9, 2011 at 7:30 PM in the Town Hall, Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) representatives will be present to facilitate a discussion with interested boards, citizens and community groups so that the Town can select Priority Development Areas and Priority Preservation Areas, as well as projects that require significant transportation investments and significant infrastructure investments. The discussion is a key component of the 495/MetroWest Development Compact project. This regional project, initiated by the Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development, will create a shared framework for state, regional and local strategies for priority development and land preservation, as well as transportation and other infrastructure investments in 37 communities, including Hopkinton.

A description of the project is attached, which includes guidance on identifying locations and projects in each category. All are invited to attend on May 9. Those present will be asked to discuss and identify locations and projects. Anyone unable to attend may email Elaine Lazarus (elainel@hopkinton.org) with ideas, comments and recommendations.
