Despite Everything, Art Blooms

The pandemic, a torturous election, a convulsive reckoning with racism – yet, in small acts of defiant creativity, artists in their studios give form to signposts showing where they, and we, are in all of this.

“The resilience of artists continues to amaze me,” says Hopkinton Center for the Arts director Kris Waldman.

The 15th annual presentation of Arts in Bloom runs from November 13 through December 19 at HCA’s Lotvin Family Gallery. In a masked and socially distanced manner, the public is warmly invited to visit in person HCA’s sanitised environment. An online reception for the artists and the public will take place on Wednesday, November 18 from 6 to 7pm and can be accessed at hopartscenter.org.

Juried by Marie Craig, director of Boston’s Fountain Street Gallery, this year’s Arts in Bloom presents work by 35 artists from California, Rhode Island, and 23 Massachusetts cities and towns.
