The Ashland Legion Post 77 team is a strong, well built versatile team featuring some of the best players from Hopkinton, Holliston, Ashland and Bellingham. In game 1 of the season Ashland came out firing offensively scoring 11 runs in the first 2 innings to lead to an eventual 12-0 Newton mercy in the 6th inning.

Brendan Thurber started the bottom of the 1st with a double, 2 outs would follow but Newton starter Andrew Freeman then struggled to find the strike zone and hit Chris Moberg with a pitch followed up by a walk to Nick Burns, Ashland would then take full advantage of Freemans struggles;

Ben Palleiko - HBP, Chris Moberg scores 2-0 Ashland
Steve Mahoney reaches on Error, Nick Burns scores 3-0 Ashland
Brendan Wolfe walks, Joe Byrnes scores 4-0 Ashland
Brendan Thurber - 3 RBI Double scoring Palleiko, Mahoney and Wolfe (Thurber thrown out trying to advance) 7-0 Ashland
