On Monday evening Ashland Legion improved to 7 and 3 on the season after taking down Tyngsboro who fell to 5 and 4. Hiller Nick Burns had a terrific start on the mound as he pitched his 2nd complete game of the season. In the 7 innings, Burns struck out 7 giving up 1 run on 3 hits.
Tyngsboro scored their only run on the top of the 2nd when Logan Kuzmitch scored on a Jacob Barnes double putting Post 247 up 1-0. Ashland would respond quickly as on the bottom of the 2nd Kyle Goulet and Matt Treveloni came through with RBI hits. Goulet reached on an error driving in Matt Jeye to tie the game and Treveloni drove in Connor Birch to put Ashland on top 2-1.
Ashland added 3 more runs in the 4th, as they went on a 2 out rally. Matt Treveloni drove in Ben Palleiko, Brenden Thurber and Joe Byrnes came through with base hits adding 2 more as Kyle Goulet and Matt Treveloni scored.
The Ashland offense has picked it up. Post 77 has scored 22 runs in the last 3 games as they beat Medford 7-4 Saturday, Newton 10-5 Monday and Tyngsboro 5-1 Tuesday. Ashland had to forfeit 2 wins from earlier in the season when it was found Austin Cave was ineligible for the Ashland roster due to Legion rules.
