Memorial Day 2017 Services in Hopkinton

The Memorial Day Ceremony in Hopkinton schedule is as follows: 9:45am at Evergreen Cemetery, 10:30am at King Flag Pole on Mayhew Street, 11:00am Soldiers Mound at Mt. Auburn Cemetery and finishes with a ceremony at 11:25 at the Town Common. View the full details below or on our social media.

In the event of rain, the services will take place at St John’s Parish Hall at 11:00am.

Senate Passes Fiscal Year 2018 Budget

BOSTON– The Senate voted today on a $40.8 billion budget for Fiscal Year 2018, investing in key areas related to local aid, education, health and human services, housing and workforce development. The budget makes targeted investments, while limiting the use of one-time revenue sources and protecting the state’s Stabilization Fund.

HCAM news has received the following email from Hopkinton resident Frank Sivo seeking to connect with other community members in a similar situation concerning HHS advance placement school courses:

"Was your motivated and qualified HHS student not approved for an AP course? Was there an override meeting? Did you understand how the decision was made? Before taking on a tough Millis Mohawks team, the Hillers softball team celebrated their 5 Seniors: Maille Bennett who will be playing at Stonehill College Next year, Heather Holly who is heading to Dominican University, Lindsay Whittles who will be at Wheaton College, Lily Rancatore and Madison Abbott.

Video: Hillers Baseball Update 5-24-2017

On Thursday May 18th, the 7 and 5 Hopkinton Hillers took on 11 and 6 Ashland. The game was scoreless until the bottom of the 3rd, Jake Leblanc came up with bases loaded and no outs. Leblanc knocked in 2 RBI's with a basehit to put the Hillers up 2-0. Ashland scored a run in the top of the 4th to make it a 2-1 game, Hillers added on to the 2-1 lead in the bottom of the 5th, with 2 outs and 2 on, starting pitcher Brendan Kelly crushed a 3 run HR over the Centerfield fence to put the Hillers up 5-1, the Kelly 3 run homer scores himself, Brian Gaughan, Chris Burdick.

It was a hot 95 degree day and track & field athletes from throughout the TVL competed to try to take home the division championship.

Below in the video you see results from some of the various events. On the boys side Dover-Sherborn took first overall scoring 101 points and 3 more than 2nd place Westwood, Medway came in 3rd with 86. On the girls side Hopkinton took home 1st in a landslide with 135 points. Holliston was 2nd with 86 and Medfield 3rd with 66.
