Cable Advisory Committee Solicits Public Input On Comcast

By contributor,

The Hopkinton Cable Advisory Committee (CAC), which represents the Board of Selectmen with regard to cable television licensing, invites the members of the public to attend its next public meeting on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 7:00 pm at Town Hall, Room 211.

The May 25th meeting is the start of the process by which the Town determines whether the license for Comcast should be renewed upon its expiration on November 15, 2013, and if so, under what terms. At the meeting, the CAC will collect information from the public concerning the community's cable related needs, and the performance of Comcast under the terms of its current license with the Town.

The CAC seeks the public’s input as to what Comcast is doing well, what it can do better, and how Comcast might support improved public, educational, and governmental access to cable services, including, but not limited to, HCAM. License renewal happens only once every ten years, so this is an important opportunity for your voice to be heard.
