April 10th – May 18, 2017
Reception at the HCA: Friday, May 5, 6:30 – 7:30pm

Eligibility
This Call for Art is open to all students (Kindergarten through 12th grade) who are residents of Hopkinton.
The Theme
You may have heard the expression, “It all starts here.” That is because Hopkinton is known as the starting point for the oldest continuously run marathon in the world. We want to celebrate the heart, courage, and sweat that runners exemplify each year when they give this race their all – running as best and as fast as they can – for 26.2 miles!
So we want to know:
What inspires YOU?
What do you love so much that you are not afraid to work harder than you ever thought possible to achieve your goal?
We invite you to express and share your passion with our town.

CALL FOR ART RULES
All entries should be original artwork, created by a student in grades K-12 who lives in Hopkinton.
Entries must be 11” x 14” (paper and entry forms are available for pick up at the HCA through March 26 in the HCA Gallery.)
Entries may be created in any 2D media, including: marker, crayon, paint, ink, acrylic, colored pencil, paint, computer art, prints and photography.
All entries should be related to the theme “Heart, Courage, Sweat: Art inspired by the Marathon”, but do not necessarily have to include imagery associated with running or sports.
Entries must be signed with first and last name on the back of the artwork, and an entry form should be afixed to the back. Pick up an entry form at the HCA gallery or www.hopartscenter.org/gallery/call-for-art/
TIMELINES & NOTES
Deadline: all entries are due by NOON Monday, March 27 at HCA or in drop-off boxes in or near all school entryways.

Artwork will be shown at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts (HCA) from April 18 – May 18, or in Main Street shop windows from April 10 – May 18, 2017.
A local panel of artists will determine which artworks will be hung at the HCA based on creativity, composition, and design. These works will be professionally framed, and gifted to the artists when the show ends.
* Thanks to 6 year old Riley Colleran, who helped create the show title
