Live Ashland 7's Playoff Baseball on Thursday August 6th at 8pm!

Tonight the #1 seeded Ashland 7's (14-1) take on #16 Kingston (1-14). These two teams met up last Friday (7/31) and Ashland took the game 10 to 6. Tonight's game is the first playoff game for Ashland in the 2 loss elimination format post season. The game will take place at Adams Middle School Field in Holliston. First Pitch is set for 8pm!

Matty Tomacelli will take the hill tonight for the 7's. Tomacelli has work 8 innings for the 7's this season and has a 1-0 record, 1 save and a 1.75 ERA.

Ruth Lorraine Fecteau Holmes, 96

Ruth Lorraine Fecteau Holmes, lived her dash from September 5, 1923 to August 4, 2020 as a daughter of Wilfred Fecteau and Isabel DeWolf, wife of Robert Swasey Holmes, and mother to Lorraine, affectionately known as “Muffet”, Holmes Martorana. Ruth passed peacefully at the age of 96 in the loving care of Hospice of the Valley in Gilbert, Arizona due to COVID.

Senate Passes Bill to Limit the Use of Step Therapy

Today, the Massachusetts State Senate passed legislation to limit the use of step therapy, or ‘fail-first’ protocols that too often direct patients to cheaper medications rather than those more suitable to treat their condition, The bill, An Act relative to step therapy and patient safety, gives health care providers more leverage in determining the most effective treatment options for patients, saving patients expensive and painful regimens on medications they know to be ineffective or harmful.

Senate President Spilka, State and Local Leaders Announce COVID-19 testing in South Framingham

On Monday, August 3, 2020, Senate President Karen E. Spilka (D-Ashland) joined state and local leaders to announce the creation of a free COVID-19 testing site in South Framingham, an area that has experienced rising coronavirus case rates in recent weeks. The site, part of the state-wide Stop the Spread network, is designed to expand testing coverage to communities of color and immigrant populations who are currently at high risk of infection.
