COVID-19 Updates & Precautions May 27, 2020 update

While Town Hall and municipal buildings are physically closed to the public, we are open for business. Many transactions can be completed online, and we are available via phone and email to assist during regular business hours. A full Town Directory can be found here. A box at the front door of Town Hall may be used to drop off correspondence, applications, etc., and they may also be mailed or emailed. Parks, Playgrounds and Playing Fields are closed.

As of 9:00 a.m. on 5/27/20, Hopkinton’s Health Department is reporting 115 total confirmed COVID-19 cases; 14 of those cases are active, with 88 recoveries and 13 deaths. Sandy Beach:
At present, in accordance with the Commonwealth's guidance, residents are permitted to walk the access
road to the beach, socially distanced and with a mask if social distancing cannot be performed. Residents
can walk the beach (transitory activity only).

The beach will not be staffed with life guards until late June, the exact date is yet to be determined.
Bathrooms will not be unlocked and water testing will not be conducted until the beach is staffed. Swim at
your own risk.

Hopkinton Senior Center:
The Senior Center, with a grant from the MetroWest Health Foundation, has begun a limited take-out
lunch program (Tuesday - Friday) for Hopkinton seniors, particularly those who are homebound and/or
have relied on the Center for their daily main meal in the past. While we have limited quantities, if you
know of a senior who might benefit from this program please call the Senior Center at 508-497-9730.
Cost is $2 per meal.

Reopening Massachusetts:
Governor Baker’s Reopening Advisory Board released a significant amount of new information and
guidance on Monday May 18, 2020. Some additional businesses are allowed to open during phase 1,
although specific standards must be met by these businesses prior to being allowed to reopen.
Businesses operating to provide Essential Services, as defined in the Governor's March 23, 2020
Executive Order, updated on March 31, April 28 and May 15, may remain open and have until May 25,
2020 to comply with these mandatory safety standards. In addition to the mandatory safety standards, All
