Three candidates for the May town election emerged from the Democratic Caucus held on Friday night.

As reported by Richard Duggan,Vice Chair, the three candidates are as follows:

• Frank D'Urso for Selectman
• Mary Arnaut for Commissioner of Trust Fund
• Richard deMont for School Committee

D'Urso is currently a Conservation Commissioner and also serves on the Sustainable Green Committee. He was previously a member of the Civic Engagement Committee. He is very involved in community activities; he serves as the Assistant Pack Leader for Cub Scout Pack 26, Head Coach for the HLL Single A Pirates and has also coached basketball and T-Ball in town.

Frank was an active member of the "No" committee, and feels that it is important to include thoughts and opinions from all citizens when deciding important issues. Frank has a 5 year old that will be entering Center School this fall, and his soon to be 8 year old will be in third grade at Elmwood. School infrastructure issues will remain very important to him.

"But I remain a true fiscal conservative at heart," says D'Urso. "I believe in fixing problems proactively to save more money in the long run."

Frank and his wife Emily have lived in town for a dozen years, he is a graduate of Northeastern University and earned his Master's degree in Management from Cambridge College. In the past year he has completed 8 courses for two certificates from Cornell University.

"I believe that education is a lifetime process, and by always learning we can find new
and better ways to resolve problems that arise," says D'Urso.

D'Urso is an IT/QA/Management consultant with a great interest in energy and says that technology can help us find so many solutions to problems, when used correctly.

D'Urso's favorite charities are the 100 Inning fundraiser to fight ALS, Project Just Because and the many Scout fundraisers for local activities.
