eHop To Hold Fifth Annual Know Your Vote Forum

HOPKINTON, MA – April 17, 2017 –  In preparation for Annual Town Meeting, eHop (educate • engage • empower | Hopkinton) in conjunction with the Town of Hopkinton, will hold its 5th Annual “Know Your Vote” forum on Monday, April 24 at 6:30-8:30 pm in the Hopkinton High School library. The forum will be broadcast on HCAM-TV (Comcast 8/Verizon 30) and streamed on Facebook Live at This is your chance to get the answers you need from town officials before Town Meeting.
A few key issues to be voted on at this year’s Annual Town Meeting include a temporary moratorium on marijuana dispensaries, traffic calming measures on Hayden Rowe (approx. $1.7M), a feasibility study to renovate or replace Elmwood School ($600K), additional funds to begin the construction of an athletic facility on Fruit Street ($400K), and a new Construction Waste and Debris Bylaw that will impose fines relating to construction waste or debris left in yards and vacant lots for more than 30 days.  You can read the full Warrant here:

Important Info:
Annual Town Meeting begins Monday, May 1 at 7:00pm in the Middle School Auditorium. It generally stops at 11:00pm and is continued on consecutive evenings until the full warrant is voted. Town Meeting typically lasts 2-4 nights.
