Based on the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale of the same name, The Snow Queen features the friendship between Gerda, a young girl, and her best friend, Kai, a boy who has been spirited away by the Snow Queen, a magical being who controls winter.

Gerda sets off on a journey to find and rescue Kai. Along the way, she battles witches, encounters fantastical characters, and flies through the frozen air.

Featuring an original song and with a cast of more than 20 third through eighth graders from Hopkinton and surrounding towns, The Snow Queen is a coming-of-age adventure suitable for all ages.

As the show's director, Andrea McCoy, explains, "The Snow Queen is really about friendship and faith that the power of love will prevail."
