Enter Stage Left Theater will present Stephen Schwartz Scrapbook, a newly conceived musical revue celebrating the work of legendary composer of musical theater and film Stephen Schwartz. Running April 10-12, 2014, Stephen Schwartz Scrapbook features a company of ESL Theater’s teen actors in grades 9-12 under the direction of Mark DiCampo, who conceived and directs the production.

This production will feature songs from some of Mr. Schwartz best-known works as well as a few lesser-known projects, including Broadway hits such as Wicked, Pippin, Godspell, Children of Eden and The Baker’s Wife, and films such as The Prince of Egypt, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Pocahontas and Enchanted.

ESL Theater first produced a teen musical theatre revue celebrating one individual composer or a composition team last spring with their popular We Tell the Story program, which showcased the works of composition duo Ahrens & Flaherty. “Producing shows like this one allows the students to explore works from the complete musical theatre cannon,” said Mark DiCampo, the show’s director. “This is especially valuable to the students since some of this music comes from shows that as a whole can’t be produced by companies outside of Broadway,” continued DiCampo. “This way, our kids can still be challenged by the material itself. It really helps them grow as actors and musicians.”

The performances take place at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Milford (23 Pine St., Milford, MA) with show times at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $20 for Adults and $15 for Students/Seniors. Tickets can be purchased online by clicking here or calling ESL Theater at 508-435-9222.
