Enter Stage Left Theater Presents Tony-Award Winner “1776”

Enter Stage Left Theater (ESL) presents “1776,” the Tony Award winning Broadway musical that follows our nation’s forefathers as they struggle to craft the Declaration of Independence. Directed by Paul Champlin. Book by Peter Stone. Music and Lyrics by Sherman Edwards. Performances are Friday–Saturday, June 12–13, at 7:30 and Sunday, June 14, at 2 p.m. at Hopkinton High School (90 Hayden Rowe St., Hopkinton). Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for students and seniors, and can be purchased online by visiting www.hopartscenter.org/performances or calling ESL at (508) 435-9222.

“1776 brings history to life,” Champlin said. “This musical puts a human face on the men behind these national icons. We see the emotions and political maneuverings that occur as they strive to do what is right for a fledgling nation.”

1776 is produced as part of the 300th Anniversary Celebration of Hopkinton. The ensemble cast includes Rob Mattson of Upton as John Adams and Phil Doherty of Milford as Benjamin Franklin.
